The Infamous McOdons
It's been a relaxing morning so far... Caden has been playing with his trains, planes and a balloon all morning, and Cayleigh has been busy eating *smiles*, playing in her exersaucer, jolly jumper, and rolling around on the floor. Unfortunately she has spent no time in her crib... She hasn't been a good sleeper lately and that's putting it lightly. Last night she went to bed at 9:30, was up at 11:30, 2:30 (stayed awake until 3:30 or so), 5:00 and 7:00. And she doesn't nap either. This is all new since she was sick, but now she's better and these bad habits are hanging on. Yawn. So if anyone has any advice on how to get her to sleep again, I'm open to it. She was such a good sleeper before and now the longest she'll go is 4 hours without waking up, and we haven't even seen that in a long time. She's also hungry all the time it seems, so I'm just a little tired. ;) But it's OK- we love our family of 4 and I wouldn't give it up for sleep. It's been so long since I've had any, I'm not even sure if I know what it is anyway!
Tonight is our family night and we're going to take Caden bowling and then to McDonalds (Caden calls it McOdons). He's SO excited, and he can't wait for Daddy to get home. :)
Cayleigh learned how to roll from her tummy to her back yesterday so tummy time is pretty much done. She HATES tummy time, and now that she can roll she is on her back in no time. I was lucky to get a tummy shot today.
The shots of her sleeping were taken when she was in her crib for the first time. Jeff put it together a few days ago. And of course there's one of her napping in our bed. We've been so tired due to her getting up so frequently that she usually ends up in our bed around 5:00 or so. She sleeps so good there, but Jeff and I are trying to make her go back to sleep in her crib. It's more comfy than what she had before, so hopefully she'll get used to it.
Well, I need to go make lunch. Hopefully Cayleigh will nap this afternoon. We'll see...

Daddy Still Won't Do...
That was then...
And this is now...
Poor Jeff... These pictures were taken just seconds apart- both with Caden over a year ago and now with Cayleigh tonight. Caden was teething back then and only wanted Mommy, and tonight poor Cayleigh is feeling under the weather due to her needles. They really do love their Daddy, but they prefer to be with Mommy when they don't feel well. Either that or they just don't like Jeff's shirt which he's wearing on both occasions... ;)

More Haircuts, Walks, and Potty Attempts
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can never upload pictures in the right order... The top picture of Caden and the bottom picture of Cayleigh were taken just now. Cayleigh LOVES her jolly jumper. Caden is trying to use the potty and he's making Cayleigh smile and giggle by talking to her like I do. It is so cute watching them together. :)
We got Caden's hair cut over the weekend and I got them to cut his hair the same way they do Jeff's. So now he looks like a minnie Daddy and I think he's adorable. I also love the picture of Caden sleeping in his stroller on a walk a few weekends ago. He says he doesn't need a nap but is proven wrong on many occasions. ;)

Birthdays, Walks, and Haircuts :)
Well, I had a great birthday. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes! Jeff was super sweet as always and gave me a very special day. He worked extra the week before so he could take a few hours off on the morning of my birthday and let me sleep in. I was able to stay in bed until 9:00... What a treat! ;) I can't tell you how long it's been since I've slept in past 7:00. Caden and Cayleigh were very good for Mommy and the weather was beautiful- we were able to go to the park and have a lot of fun outside. I put up a picture of Cayleigh after one of our walks this past week- I thought she looked adorable passed out in her bear suit!
I just got back from the salon (it was a birthday treat). I LOVE it there! *lol* Now we're going to have lunch and then take Caden to "Let's Play"- a HUGE indoor playground. We're going to shop a bit and later tonight Jeff and I are going to go out. It'll be just the 2 of us. We're planning on letting Grammie and Grampie watch the kids while we go to a restaurant down the street. Jeff wanted to take me out this weekend for my birthday. The plans are still kind of up in the air, though, because little Cayleigh is really sick. She sounds like she has whooping cough, although I know she doesn't. Poor little one... I hope she feels batter soon. It's awful when you have a sick baby.

Growing Up Too Fast- 4 Months Today... And she can roll over!
I can't believe how fast little Cayleigh is growing (I posted her month-by-month pictures today). And Caden too. :( Last night Jeff was getting all our pictures organized and ready to print (we have over 600 pictures to print to get my albums caught up!) and seeing Caden as a little boy made me feel a little sad. He's not a little boy anymore. He's no longer napping and that is a big change in itself. Jeff and I don't mind because now he goes to bed at 7:00 and sleeps until 8:00 in the morning. Before he wouldn't nap until 3:30 or so in the afternoon, would sleep until supper and then would be awake in his room until about 10:00pm even though we put him to bed at 8:00. He's getting more and more independent and is starting to need me less and less. My friend, Cheryl, was here yesterday and Caden said, "She cute, Mommy. Auntie Cheryl beautiful". The things he will say and do just blow us away. Sometimes I wish he was that little baby boy again, but I am happy he's growing up too.
Cayleigh is changing a lot as well. She's a beautiful little baby and we love her so much. We truly feel blessed to have our children. Last night I put Cayleigh to bed at 7:30 and she slept until 4:30, ate, and went right back to bed until 7:30am. She giggles all the time and loves watching her big brother. Although I love it when she's small, it'll be nice watching her and Caden play. And at the rate at which they're growing, it won't be long at all before that happens.
*Just a quick add on- Cayleigh rolled over at exactly 4 months old. And she's done it about 3 or 4 times since. What a big girl! :)
