Big Boy in a Cowboy Hat

Well, we're still alive! :) We are all moved in and pretty much settled. We have maybe 1 more load of Jeff's books and odds and ends to get from Jeff's parents' place, but other than that everything is here and unpacked. We still have pictures to hang and a few blinds and other things to put up, but it'll get done. We really love it here- Caden loves his "new house" as he calls it. :) He loves all the green space to play and all the trails to ride his Spiderman car that his Grammie, Aleta, gave him. Today we sat on a hill outside and blew bubbles for almost an hour. Caden also got a big car ride in, and drove across the entire park! They are pouring concrete for out patio right now, and once that dries we are going to put a pool out there for Caden. He'll love that! I put up pictures of Caden playing in the park that is right by us as well. He has lots of things to do here- in the summer anyway...:)

Do you like all the pictures of Caden in his cowboy hat and cowboy boots? :) Caden's "Ammie", Debbie, got them for him and she got a pink set for December. The babies LOVE them! Caden was all decked out for the stampede! I am going to do a post of the stamede next. :) Poor Caden misses December and his "Auntie Matt" (AKA Kristin) terribly, but he is now only a very short drive away (just a few minutes). He's been able to see December and Kristin quite a few times since the move. :)

I love taking videos of Caden as he's learning. This video was taken a few weeks ago. Jeff and I are so impressed with how well Caden knows his letters. Sorry the video is so dark.

Since this past week has been so busy I haven't been able to work much with Caden on his letters. In 2 days we will be in our new house, God willing, so once we are settled and things are back to normal we can get back to work. :) This will be my last post for a bit, but hopefully for the next post I can put up pictures of our new home. :)

Undies, Cooking, Prayer and VBS ;)

I'm finally posting more pictures of Caden. The first picture is of Caden sporting his new big boy underwear. :) It was a really hot day so I let him wear a pair over his diaper. He hasn't really graduated to big boy underwear yet... ;)

Then I have a picture of Caden helping Mommy make dessert. We made pudding and, as you can tell from his green hair, it was green. He LOVES pudding, and loves to help stir and lick the beaters.

And of course there has to be a picture of my little angel praying! *grin* Caden still LOVES to pray and read his Bible. This past week was really busy because I helped out with VBS at a PCA church here. It was a lot of fun! I helped out with the 5th and 6th graders and while I was doing that, Caden was in the preschool group. I put up a few pictures. Every day Caden would say "Church?" because he wanted to go. December came as well and Caden loved that. Both Caden and December had trouble leaving Kristin and I some days, but overall they did great. I hope to find more programs like that to get involved in, and to get Caden involved in as well. Right now my guess is that he's going to be a Pastor. I guess the more VBS (Vacation Bible School) training the better! ;)

Loving his new bed...

Caden has been doing SO well in his big boy bed! Jeff and I are so incredibly proud of him. He has been sleeping well in his new bed and this morning he didn't get up until about 8am. That was nice for a change! :) Caden is a little under the weather, though. His stomach hasn't been agreeing with him since yesterday afternoon and he couldn't really tolerate his lunch today. Hopefully this will pass quickly...

Re. Big Boy Bed :)

Caden slept as he always does in his big bed! It is 6:45am and he is just waking up. He is getting up a bit earlier than 7:00 or 7:30 now because it is so bright in the mornings and he also has a bit of a cold. I can just hear him on the monitor chatting away. When I hear "Mommy?" or "Daddy?" I'll go and get him. :) I am very proud of my little guy! I guess he's not so little anymore... :(

He's in a big boy bed!

Tonight we decided to take the step and put Caden in a big boy bed (AKA a mattress on the floor *smiles*). We may be in our new house as early as July 3rd now so we wanted to try and get Caden into a big boy bed before the big move. Caden is also a pretty long baby and he's almost too big for his crib now. Some nights we go in and there's little Caden squashed up against the bars. He's nicely settled in to Ammie and Bampie's house so it's a good time to try. Caden was very excited about the whole idea so we'll see how the night goes and I'll keep you posted! ;) December and Caden played on his new bed for a little while. December has been in a big girl bed since she got here, and she was showing Caden how to sleep in it. :) Caden is 21 1/2 months... Now if we could just lose that soother at night-time...
