Decorations and Doctors...

On Sunday we bought a new star for our Christmas tree and some outside lights. It was fun to decorate and, now that we have our new place, we can decorate more than we could while we were in our 3rd storey condo. Caden wanted to put the star on the tree, but got scared when Jeff lifted him up. Our brave little boy. ;)

Yesterday Caden and Cayleigh had their check-ups- Caden's was his 2 year check-up and Cayleigh's was her 2 month check-up. They both did very well. Cayleigh is 12 lbs 12 1/2 ounces and is 24 inches long now. She is in the 75th-90th percentile for weight and the 90th for height. Her head is also in the 90th percentile. :) Caden weighed 31 lbs 8 ounces and was 36.75 inches long. He is in the 75th-90th percentile for weight and the 90th for height (the same as Cayleigh). So they are both doing well. A lot of people laugh when they see Cayleigh because of her chubby cheeks and rolls. Poor little girl (or should I say big girl)... :)

Tomorrow we are going to Edmonton to see my sister and her husband and I am SO excited. We are going to go swimming and shopping and I can't wait! I just hope the snow stops because right now it's storming. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Well, Caden is asleep, Cayleigh is asleep, so why am I on this computer?! ;) I am going to get some rest while I can... Bye for now. :)

All Dressed Up :)

We went to a wedding yesterday (our good friends DJ and Anna got married) and it was a lot of fun. :) Yet again I have no pictures of my sweet son because he literally had an explosion during the ceremony so I was busy cleaning him up, and then he went to Grammie and Grampie's house. He is still getting over this awful flu- poor little guy. But he had fun with them and Cayleigh was SO good that Jeff and I were able to enjoy the reception.

We're getting better

Over the last two days we've started to feel a bit better, and we are very thankful. Caden still has no appetite but he's playing again which is great to see. Cayleigh loves to be on her back and join in the fun- she'll kick her legs and make the cutest sounds. And she's full of smiles. :) She still has a cold but no signs of stomach upset yet. Hopefully she won't catch the awful bug that Caden, Jeff and I had- Caden being the worst. But he is able to drink and play and that makes me very happy. He's excited because Grammie and Grampie Jones are getting a new puppy tomorrow. Before I put Caden down for his nap he was saying he wanted to see Sadie. Tomorrow he'll get to see her, and I hope to get lots of pictures. :)

My Sick Little Angel

Caden is SO sick. :( He started throwing up last night and I've lost count how many times... He kept saying, "Mommy, make it stop" and that broke my heart. :( He's only kept 2 crackers and a bit of juice/water down today. Pray that he gets well soon and that Cayleigh doesn't get sick. I've been feeling sick today too so I hope tonight is OK for me. I can only live off of toast and Gravol for so long, and I have 2 little ones who need a Mommy who's well.

Cayleigh Month By Month- She's 2 months today

The first 2 pictures were taken Oct 3rd, the next one Nov 3rd, and the last 2 Dec 3rd. Our chubby little princess... :)

Potty Training Continued...

This is a continuation of the last post. Caden got up from his nap and said he had to go potty (I'm his mother/the one who changes his diapers- I can be this excited)! I put him on, he got distracted of course and sat for 30 minutes, but he did go! I told him Cayleigh and I were going to go to the store without him if he took forever, and he went right away. He said "Caden did it all by is-self, Caden so proud o Mommy". What a big boy!

Potty Training- Here We Come!

To put this lightly- Caden does NOT like potty training. He pleads for a diaper and, from what I hear, his Daddy was the same way. Wonderful... When I was at the mall yesterday I changed Cayleigh and then Caden said he needed to be changed. So I picked him up and tried to put him on the change table but he was too big. Some other Moms in the room asked me how old Caden was because they thought he was too big to still be in diapers. He is almost 27 months- he just turned 2 in September. But he's big so everyone thinks he's older than he is. But the fact that he knows when he goes in his diaper tells me that he can go on the potty if we work at it more. He's gone a few times in the past but he's not consistent.

Well, he did go today and that made me happy. I would have been happier if it didn't take 1 hour, 3 cups of juice, running the tap, putting his hands in warm water which he spilled all over, and a crying spell because he was hurting from holding it... And once he did go his diaper was immediately soaked again. Oh Caden. He did get a chocolate for going and I told him how proud I was. He had no luck going before his nap so we'll try again when he gets up. We'll see... I know he has to be ready and all kids are different. But I think he'll be able to do it. :)
