Daddy's So Proud!!

A sign of things to come? Maybe I'll just skip the whole English thing and teach him Hebrew and Greek right from the start....

Work...

I am a little sad because it looks like I have to go back to work much earlier than planned. I might even be starting my orientation in just a few days. And Caden isn't even 9 months old.
I am going to be working at a Nursing Home and I will be working night shifts. So Caden will either be with myself or Jeff at all times, and I have a stretch of 2 weeks off at one point. So I didn't want to lose this job and if I didn't take it now then they would have to post it for other people. So Jeff and I thought it would be best if I took it. I think I work 4 on, 3 off, 3 on and then I have 2 weeks off. And we'll be looking after Caden (not a sitter) and I can tuck him in at night and cuddle him in the day if he needs Mommy. Jeff will just have to wake me up. I hope it all works out... If only Calgary wasn't such an expensive place to live.

Laundry

I always seem to have TONS of laundry to do. It's a good thing Caden is such a great little helper! :)

Checkup

Caden had his 9 month check-up today at the Dr.'s. He isn't quite 9 months old yet... I guess he is about 8 1/2 months. He weighs 20 lbs 8 ounces and he is in the 75th-90th percentle for weight. We couldn't measure his length because he wouldn't stay still (go figure)! The Dr. was really happy with how well Caden is doing. She said she was quite worried for a while because of his eating troubles but she said he is just fine now so we are happy about that. :)

Well, I have to go because Caden is crawling up my back and biting my feet. Not fun! :)

Daddy Just Won't Do

Tonight Caden is not liking his Daddy very much. We find it rather funny. :) If he is with me he'll smile but once I hand him to Jeff his little bottom lip turns down and it's all over from there. The tears fall and he can't be consoled- until he is back with Mommy of course. Those pictures were taken only seconds apart! We think he is teething. We got some teething tabs at a Health Food store and they seem to work great. I'm sure Caden will like Daddy again in the morning! :) *lol*

Weekend Events :)

We've had a few eventful days. On Saturday my sister, Holly, FINALLY came to visit :) and we met her boyfriend, Nathan. Nathan was Caden's instant friend! Caden smiled at him and climbed over him. He even upset a glass of water on him while we were at a restaurant. It was either Caden or myself, but it was a mistake. :) We went bowling too and Caden crawled over to the lane beside us to say hi to a 10 month old baby boy and to steal his toys and hit him in the face. I know... :)
Yesterday we left Caden with a sitter for over 3 hours and he did well. He really likes Kathy who is the wife of the lead Pastor of the church plant we are involved in. Jeff is the teaching Pastor there. Jeff and I went out to a friend's place who was having a get-together and it was fun. It was nice to be able to go out without a screaming baby in the backseat. I wish Caden liked his carseat but he doesn't. We missed him, though. I think I missed him more than Jeff did. :) It was nice to pick him up.

I just put a few more pictures up. Caden likes to play with a part of the vacuum cleaner! His uncle, Mike, used to do that too I guess. Mike even used to take it to church! I hope Caden doesn't do that! And there is a picture of Caden trying to steal Daddy's snack. He is busy... He can say "Dad-da" now and "Uh Oh"... It is really cute!

Fun in the Sun

Jeff is all done school now (well, pretty much- he still has one assignment left from an intensive to finish) so he has more free time. Today we went out for ice cream and then we went for a walk and discovered a little park. Caden was happy about that!

Caden pretending he likes the car... Mommy and Daddy aren't fooled one bit!

Caden absolutely HATES the car. We went out to eat tonight and I had to sit in the back with Caden to keep him entertained and I wasn't successful. These pictures were taken at the beginning of the car ride. After about 10 minutes in the car Caden is not a happy camper. And in June we are driving about 6 hours to Saskatchewan and then later that month we have to drive from Halifax to NB... We are not looking forward to it.

Caden didn't like the restaurant much either. He is at the age where he likes to crawl all around and he doesn't like being restrained one bit. We had to let him flip through the drink menu to keep him happy! I know- we are going to mess up our son! :)

After the restaurant we went to the pool and Caden laughed like never before! Jeff would go under the water and then come back up and Caden thought it was SO funny! It was adorable! We hope to try to take him to the pool a couple times a week because he loves it so much. :)

More Playtime With Daddy

I just read Krsitin's blog and she is right: it is amazing to watch your little one grow. I can't believe that Caden is crawling, standing, and even furniture walking a bit.
Jeff LOVES to play with Caden. :) Now Caden is at the age where he LOVES to be chased and tickled. If we hide behind the couch Caden will come over to us and then crawl away very fast with the hopes that we'll follow him. It is SO SO cute!

I had to put this picture up too because I just love it! I took it today. Caden is growing up SO fast. He pulls himself up onto furniture now and he can even furniture walk a bit. He crawled up a step today and crawled ALL OVER his grandparent's house exploring. I wish he could stay this little forever...

"Hmm... What trouble can I get into now?"

I just took these pictures a few minutes ago. Caden is busy, and I know it's only going to get worse. He has knocked down the movies a few times and once they fell on his poor little head. We have to watch him very closely.

I had him weighed today and he is 19lbs 14 ounces (he is 8 months and 2 days old). He is getting big! :)

Well, I guess I better go because Caden in into his toy box... Bye for now!

Off to the Park We Go

I took Caden to the little park by our place today (it is a beautiful day here) and all he wanted to do was play in the dirt! This is the second time he has touched dirt in his life and he loves it. He is a typical little boy! I brought his toy truck along but he didn't care about that either! And today was the first day that he touched grass. He was amazed with that too! :)

Happy 8 Month Birthday, Caden!

I can't believe Caden is 8 months old! I honestly feel like I just brought him home from the hospital a few days ago! I remember how hard it was at the start- I remember the tears, the sleepless nights... It was rough, but now it is just fun and I'd love to have another one (but don't worry- we aren't going to have another for a looooooong time! :) Caden is a true blessing from God and we love him so much. :)
