Merry Christmas!

We had such a great day yesterday. Caden LOVED all his new toys (he got so many things that I took some away for later) and Cayleigh giggled away at Grammie and Grampie's house and did her favourite thing- sleep. She also played poker with Uncle Matt and Uncle Stephen (don't ask!). Doesn't she have a great poker face? *smiles* :) Caden spent a lot of time running away from Sadie who likes to jump all over him. Luckily Grammie came to the rescue. :) I'd have to say that Caden's favourite gift was a bowling set. He got up at 7:00 this morning and bowled for over 2 1/2 hours. It was cute!

We woke up around 7:00 on Christmas morning and, while we were waiting for our little princess to wake up, we had a breakfast of waffles and sausages. Caden saw his new shopping cart when he came out of his room and that kept him entertained while we were getting breakfast. He was awake at about 6:15 on Christmas morning due to excitement but stayed in his room, so he was a little cranky at times because he was overtired. Caden had 3 time-outs on Christmas morning- we weren't very happy. But he got better as the day went on.

After Cayleigh woke up we opened our presents and it was fun. Jeff was happy with his books and other presents and so was I. Tomorrow Cayleigh and I get to go on a shopping spree and I can't wait! :) Jeff and Caden might go to the Science Museum or go swimming. It'll be fun.

So we let Caden play for a bit and then, after lunch, we went over to Grammie and Grampie Jones' house and opened more presents there. It was nice to spend the day with family. :) I am still overjoyed with the gift they got me- tickets back to NB in January. It is the most special gift ever. Now my parents and my sister and grandmother can see Caden and Cayleigh and I can see them again and all our friends from home. And I'll be able to go out after my sister has her baby as well. I'm SO excited! So make sure we have a day to hang out, Nicole! ;)

We had a great turkey dinner and I'm attempting to copy Debbie's great job today. I have never cooked a turkey on my own until today so we'll see how it turns out. My best friend, Cheryl, is coming over for supper as well as a person I met at our church in NB. So we'll probably play games and hang out this evening. I'm excited. I just hope I don't ruin the turkey... ;)

Christmas Eve

We had a lot of fun as a family on Christmas Eve. Caden and I baked a cake for Jesus' birthday and, as always, Caden enjoyed baking. Jeff got off work at 3:00 and that was nice. We had a nice supper that evening and we all opened 1 gift. Caden got a backhoe and was very happy. Little Cayleigh opened a rattle (with Daddy's help) and we're saving that for a little later when she'll be able to play with it. :)

Caden and Pooh- The Best of Friends :)

For fun Caden likes to change Pooh's diaper. It's funny watching him. And he talks to Pooh, takes Pooh in the van... Abbey, Caden's elephant, has been put to the sidelines for a bit. ;)

Merry Christmas from our little angels!

Well, we are all getting excited for Christmas. :) Caden is excited to bake a cake in 2 days for Jesus' birthday- we're going to do that on Christmas Eve. We've been trying to teach him the true meaning of Christmas and he's catching on. It's amazing how much he can understand. He'll say, "Jesus make sun. Jesus make moon. Jesus make trees. Jesus make Daddy's coffee!". So he sort of gets it... *smiles* He's also very excited to open his presents- he thinks he's getting trucks and "Grampie's trailer". There might be a truck or two under the tree, but no trailer. Sorry, Caden. ;)

I can't get over how quickly both Caden and Cayleigh are growing. Cayleigh smiles all the time and is getting chubbier by the day. We call her our little blowfish- poor little thing. One day I'm sure her cheeks are going to explode! ;) She has giggled on atleast 3 occasions and both Jeff and I love hearing that sweet sound. Caden is talking more and more and says the cutest things. On Saturday Grammie and Grampie Jones watched Caden and Cayleigh while Jeff and I went to Mike and Kim's Christmas party, and when we were taking Caden back home he said, "Love you, Grammie". It was so cute! And the next night when Grammie and Grampie watched Caden (we had Jeff's work party) he said "Love you, Sadie (their dog). Love you, tree (their plant). And on the way out he shouted, "LOVE YOU, GRAMMIE!". Caden is a special little boy and Cayleigh is a special little girl- atleast Mommy thinks so anyway. :)

So we hope you all have a great Christmas! I'll try my best to put up the pictures from Christmas day as soon as I can for you, Mom, because I know you'll be waiting. :) Bye for now!

Travels and Giggles :)

We did go to Edmonton despite the storm and we had a lot of fun. We took Caden swimming twice, hung out with Holly and Nathan, and attempted to go shopping at West Ed but the crowds were insane and Caden was AWFUL. We go all the way to Edmonton to shop, and the only stores I am able to go to are Sears and Zellers. :( Caden was whining, not listening, kicking his stroller in a way that made it impossible to push him... Despite what his grandparents may think, Caden can be a very naughty boy when he wants to. Poor Holly and Nathan- Cayleigh exploded all over their guest room (hee hee) and Caden had a HUGE tantrum. He probably dented their floors all to pieces while cleaning/banging it with a broom that is meant for their fireplace. Oh well... What can you do? ;)

And guess what- Cayleigh giggled last night! Yesterday she was 10 weeks and 2 days- not quite 2 1/2 months. I was shocked because Caden was well over 3 months before we heard his precious giggles. When we got home and put Cayleigh in her chair she was SO happy. I think she knew she was home and was happy to be there. She was all smiles, was very alert and was cooing (the pictures of her in her chair were taken seconds before her giggles) so I was talking to her and going "boo boo boo boo boo" and she giggled! I yelled for Jeff to come and probably scared her because when he came she only had one giggle left, but Jeff was able to hear it. Her giggling made my night- what a sweet sound.

Monkey Munch

Caden wanted to make Monkey Munch tonight, and that's just what we did. It is such a yummy snack, and is fun to make with little ones. :) Cayleigh didn't have as much fun as Caden and I did, and had a grumpy look on her face most of the time her Daddy was holding her. She still has that look, so I'm going to give her a bath. I know she'll love that. :)

Decorations and Doctors...

On Sunday we bought a new star for our Christmas tree and some outside lights. It was fun to decorate and, now that we have our new place, we can decorate more than we could while we were in our 3rd storey condo. Caden wanted to put the star on the tree, but got scared when Jeff lifted him up. Our brave little boy. ;)

Yesterday Caden and Cayleigh had their check-ups- Caden's was his 2 year check-up and Cayleigh's was her 2 month check-up. They both did very well. Cayleigh is 12 lbs 12 1/2 ounces and is 24 inches long now. She is in the 75th-90th percentile for weight and the 90th for height. Her head is also in the 90th percentile. :) Caden weighed 31 lbs 8 ounces and was 36.75 inches long. He is in the 75th-90th percentile for weight and the 90th for height (the same as Cayleigh). So they are both doing well. A lot of people laugh when they see Cayleigh because of her chubby cheeks and rolls. Poor little girl (or should I say big girl)... :)

Tomorrow we are going to Edmonton to see my sister and her husband and I am SO excited. We are going to go swimming and shopping and I can't wait! I just hope the snow stops because right now it's storming. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Well, Caden is asleep, Cayleigh is asleep, so why am I on this computer?! ;) I am going to get some rest while I can... Bye for now. :)
