Sunday Pictures :)

Cayleigh's Grandma Aleta got her the cutest outfit and she wore it today. I couldn't resist taking a few pictures. :) It is a 6 month size outfit and 8 week old Cayleigh fits into it just fine. She is a big girl- her 2 month needles are this week and I'll let you know what percentile she's in. She's definitely a good eater! We are thankful for that, especially since Caden had so much trouble eating when he was her age.

We put up our Christmas tree last night and Caden had so much fun helping us decorate it. He put the ornaments on the same branch over and over and Jeff would move them when he wasn't looking. :) As you can sort of tell from one of the pictures (the one of Caden reaching for me while I was holding Cayleigh), Caden is starting to get jealous of his little sister. :( He doesn't want to touch her, talk to her, or have Mommy hold her. I tried to have some one-on-one time with him yesterday and I try my best to play with him alone whenever I can. And I also get him to play with Mommy and Cayleigh... So we'll see how it goes. But today wasn't a good day. This post is all pictures of Cayleigh- I'll be sure to put a bunch of Caden up next time. He was busy playing with his trucks this morning when we took pictures of Cayleigh, and when he did come over he was just mad that I was holding her and not him. And tonight when Jeff took the pictures of Cayleigh sleeping on my shoulder, Caden was in bed.

Tomorrow I hope to get to the mall to completely finish our shopping. Then we have a ton of wrapping to do. It'll be fun. :)

Thinking of you, Kristin :)

Guess what- Caden was right! We just found out Baby Isaac Bradley was born and we can't wait to meet him! :)

Oh what a night...

Oh where do I begin? ;) Every two weeks Jeff and I try and do something special together. Well, last night was our "date night". I forgot I had a committment that night so we were unable to go out, but when I got home Jeff was going to prepare chocolate fondu. Earlier that evening I had made a special supper for Jeff so that was nice too.

At about 9:30 Caden went to bed- he was out shopping with Jeff and needed to wind down a bit before bed. Every time he goes to bed late he has a rough night. We should have known better. I'll tell you more in a minute.

So Caden's in bed, Cayleigh's asleep in her chair, and Jeff and I get to spend a bit of time together. But as soon as we're finished eating, Cayleigh wakes up. So there's Jeff, myself, and our little girl on our "date". I think of that Sesame Street song, "One of These Things Just Doesn't Belong Here"...It becomes 10:00, then 11:00... I am exhausted so I go to bed for a bit. Jeff stays up with Cayleigh. It's 12:00, then 1:00... Jeff has to work the next day so it's my turn to take Cayleigh. She starts to scream and cry because her little tummy is upset- most likely from our "special" dinner and dessert. :( It's 2:00... Jeff goes out to the couch to try and get some much needed rest. Then it's 3:00. Cayleigh still doesn't feel well. I have her in bed and am patting her tummy and moving her legs around to help her feel better. Then I hear crying from Caden's room. He has lost his blankie and is wailing at his door for help. The snoring from the couch stops *smiles* and Jeff gets up to help Caden. I hear Jeff go back to the couch. The snoring starts again. Ugh... It's 3:45- Cayleigh finally goes to sleep only to wake up at 7:00 with the same problems all over again. She falls asleep again at 7:45 and then I hear the not-so-sweet-to-me-after-that-kind-of-night-voice of my son at 8:00. What a night.

As I look at the pictures of Cayleigh in our bed I think of that Sesame Street song again- "One of These Things Just Doesn't Belong Here"... :) And as I sit here and type my son is singing over and over and I must admit that it's not music to my ears...

So this message is for Jeff- "I love you, sweetie, but on the next date night let's just skip dinner and just go straight for the movie, OK? ;)"

Sweet Smiles :)

I was able to take some pictures of a smiling Cayleigh today- isn't she precious? :) Her first smile was on Remembrance Day but she is just starting to do it lots now. She is also starting to coo and it is the cutest sound. We love her! :) On Friday she'll be 8 weeks and I can't believe it...

Bigger Big Boy Bed

Jeff put together Caden's bed last night, and Caden LOVES it! He has graduated from a mattress on the floor and he is so proud of himself. Grammie and Grampie Jones gave the bed to us- it is one that their kids used when they were small. Caden is happy because he's using "Uncle Stephen's bed" as he likes to tell us over and over. :) Cayleigh tested out the bed too, and it put her to sleep (not that it's at all difficult to put her to sleep- she fell asleep during her photo shoot today for her Christmas pictures!).

We are all a bit sick here. Caden caught a cold first and now we all have it- poor little Cayleigh being the worst. She can hardly catch her breath at times because she's all congested. She still only got up once last night, but I couldn't get her to go to sleep until almost 1 in the morning. She's having a much needed nap now, and so is Caden. So I guess I'd better figure out what we're having for supper. I try and do as much as I can while both little ones are napping so things aren't too crazy when Jeff gets home. Last night Caden and Cayleigh were both screaming when Jeff walked in the door. I'll try and have things a little calmer today. We'll see... :)

Too tired to think of a title... :)

Cayleigh met her Great-Grandma Don yesterday. And Caden had fun with Grammie and Grampie Jones as usual. :) Jeff took pictures of me with the kids for a change- usually he complains that I use the camera too much. ;) It's been a busy weekend... All is well but we've just been busy keeping Caden busy, taking care of Cayleigh, preparing for church activities(Jeff' been busy), etc... So I'll just put up a few pictures and write later. I am going to give Caden a bath, put him to bed, and then Jeff, myself, and our 6 week old night owl are going to watch a movie. :)

Cayleigh- Month By Month

The top 2 pictures were taken October 3rd and the bottom 2 were taken November 3rd. Cayleigh got her pink teddy from her Great-Grammie Fairgrieve. :)

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

Jeff, Caden, Cayleigh and I all went Christmas shopping today and it was a lot of fun (the top 2 pictures were taken before we left). The stores are crazy already, though. Over the past few weeks we've finished shopping for my family, and hopfully we'll have all our shopping done by next weekend.

Caden and Cayleigh are doing great. Caden is sleeping and napping well again and we are so happy for that! Tonight he's going to have a sleepover at Grammie and Grampie's house- hopefully he'll sleep well there. ;) He's getting smarter by the day and he's starting to love his little sister. Twice I have caught him trying to pick her up... He gives her kisses and every time we go somewhere he says, "Cayleigh come too!".

And Cayleigh is getting bigger and a little more awake every day. :) She loves to eat and sleep... But last night she went 6 hours without eating and then 3 hours after that, so we got a great sleep. Right now she is sleeping on Daddy. We just love her- she is adorable.
