The Kiddos :)

Cayleigh is sitting pretty good on her own now and Jeff and I are very proud of her. I can't believe she'll be 7 months next week. My little girl is growing up WAY too fast. :( She loves to sit and play with her brother's toys right now, and Caden loves to share with her. He's always bringing her toys and he likes to laugh at her as she plays with them. It's fun to watch. :)

Caden is still as silly and as busy as ever. He loves to talk talk talk... My head is literally pounding right now after a long day of hearing his sweet little voice. ;)

Oh, Chloe...

Jeff and I are looking after my sister's puppy, Chloe, for almost 2 weeks. Holly went home to see my older sister, Meredith, and the newest addition to our family: Kyle Matthew Gregory. He is adorable, and I cannot wait to meet him!

I am at the WHAT-ON-EARTH-WAS-I-THINKING-STAGE right now. Chloe is sweet and Caden LOVES her (Cayleigh could take her or leave her) but she does what puppies do- get into trouble. She is determined to destroy all our furniture and carpets, chew all the kids toys, and she's determined to get outside and get run over by a car. Twice she bolted out when the door was open for a split second, and both Jeff and I had to run out in the snow in bare feet to catch her. I'm positive that when Holly and Nathan come to pick her up, she will get outside and they will run her over with their car. I guess we'll wait and see... ;)

More April Fun

1. Cayleigh snuggling into her Dumbo blankie that Grammie and Grampie Jones got her at Disneyland. I can't put her to bed without it. :) I took this picture just now as she is having her nap.

2 & 3. Daddy and his children. They both LOVE to sit on Jeff's lap and play. I love to watch the 3 of them together.

4. Cayleigh had her very first Mum Mum yesterday. She is only 6 1/2 months and, although they don't recommend finger foods quite this early, I thought Cayleigh was ready. Yesterday I was trying to have a rice cake (my first "meal" of the day which was at 2:30 in the afternoon) and Cayleigh was grabbing at it and opening her mouth wide trying to gulp it down. So I went to the store and bought Cheerios, Mum Mums and puffed rice and she's doing great. She loves the Mums Mums and pretty much just plays with the other food. It's so cute seeing her feed herself. :)

5. A busy night with baby. She ended up in our bed because we were too tired to get up and down all the time to get her and feed her. Jeff might not be happy that I posted this picture, but I think it's adorable. :)

6. Cayleigh LOVES her baths!

7 & 8. Naked baby excited for bath time! She kicks and squeals with delight when she hears the water running. :)

9. Grammie Jones and 2 of her grandkids. Grammie and Grampie took Caden hiking that day and they kept him for supper. Debbie bathed him and brought him back squeaky clean and in one of her shirts that he used as temporary pj's. Caden loves to walk Sadie (Grammie and Grampie's puppy).

More Playtime With Daddy

Splish Splash

Both Caden and Cayleigh LOVE the water as you can tell from the photos. :) And Jeff took a picture of Cayleigh and I that I love because of her sweet smile. I see Caden has his cheesy grin in most of the pictures- you tell him to say cheese and he does that funny smile. ;)

Sleep and Sickness

Cayleigh is sleeping WAY better and Jeff and I are extremely thankful. Last night she slept from 8:00 to 4:30, ate, and was back to sleep fairly quickly afterwards. Grammie and Grampie got her a stuffed Dumbo in Disneyland and it has a little blankie that comes off and Cayleigh LOVES it. I gave it to her, she snuggled in to it, and she went to sleep. I tried the formula thing for a day but that night I felt extremely guilty (I know- I'm crazy. I really want her on a bottle so don't get me wrong- I'm not dissing formula. It's just that she loves nursing) so I stopped. She is doing better so there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel. And boy was it a LOOOOOOOOOOONG tunnel!

We've all been very sick (hence why I'm on the computer at 5:30 in the morning- I can't stop coughing so I can't sleep right now *sigh*) and it's been a rough week. It is an awful flu with fever, nausea, chills, muscle ache, sore throat, runny nose, loss of voice, headache... A few days ago I put Caden to bed at 7:00 and he woke up screaming. He kept pulling his feet to his chest and he was in obvious pain. It took 2 hous or so before I could get him to tell me what was wrong. I thought it was his stomach but then he pointed to his ears over and over and said, "Kiss it, Mommy". He was a mess. I knew he needed antibiotics for an ear infection and Tylenol wasn't helping at all. We called around to see what clinic we could take him to and luckily a Doctor that lives just up the road offered to see Caden is his home and he confirmed the ear infection and gave us a prescription. He was very kind to see Caden and we are very grateful to him for seeing him. I was up all night with the poor little guy holding warm cloths to his ear, giving him Tylenol, and watching Lunette and Molly over and over while we waited for the antibiotic to take effect. It took a day or so but he is doing much better. He's still sick but he's improving.

Poor Jeff is sick too. He had to take the day off work yesterday and he is going to try and pull off 1/2 day today if he can. He is on the couch right now- I told him to go out there when Cayleigh woke up so he could get a little more rest. He needs to get up at 6:00. Cayleigh is still in our room because our basement is still a work in progress. Now we are told it'll be done by May. We'll see what happens. ;) This is Day 7 of the bug for me. Jeff has a long road ahead of him as this is only Day 2 for him.

Well, I should get back to bed. This afternoon I need to go to the hospital with a friend because she is getting some tests and I want to be there with her. I hope Cayleigh will take a bottle as she has no choice. We left her with Grammie and Grampie yesterday for a few hours because I had to go see a specialist again and she did great, so she should be OK today too. I'm still trying to get back to my old self after Cayleigh's birth which was hard on me. I am getting tired of all these appointments I must say. And yesterday was not a fun visit. Oh well- I have a beautiful son and daughter that I love to pieces and I hope to have more, God willing... I only hope I survive the delivery next time. ;)

A Future Pastor in Our Midst?

Caden still LOVES to preach, sing, and play his instruments. He now plays the guitar and the piano because they started playing the piano at our church just recently. You can see what he uses as a piano on the couch and his little chair that he uses as a piano bench. This video is especially for you, Meredith. I thought you'd enjoy it. ;)

BIG Smiles, and 1/4 and 1/2 of a Tooth!

Cayleigh is SUCH a happy baby! In the picture of her in her jolly jumper (if you enlarge it) you can see her 2 teeth. She has about 1/4 of 1 and 1/2 of the other... *grin* :)

Silly :)

Caden and Cayleigh's Uncle Nathan and Auntie Holly came last Thursday and Friday for an Easter visit and it was a lot of fun. We had a turkey dinner on Friday in celebration of the true meaning of Easter- what Jesus did for us. They brought the newest addition to their family- Chloe, a puppy. She is a cute little thing. She peed all over our house but that's beside the point *smiles*. Caden felt so proud that he could pick her up and he talked about that all night. When Holly and Nathan go back to NB in a few weeks for a visit I might babysit Chloe. We'll see what happens. I love puppies. :)

Jeff took some cute pictures of Caden and Cayleigh playing together. I have never seen a baby adore her sibling as much as Cayleigh adores Caden. They are so cute!

Odds and Ends :)

The top 2 pictures I posted were taken today after I saw that Caden had given the Green Goblin a timeout again. He has quite the imagination! Caden doesn't nap anymore but he will go in his room, shut the door, and play for 1- 1 1/2 hours until I go in and get him. He loves it. Today I heard him talking and went in to find the Green Goblin in timeout. It gave me a chuckle. ;)

On Sunday, our friend Megan came to visit. She is a friend from New Brunswick but she's in Regina right now while her husband is taking courses. It was great to see her! Caden had fun with her 3-year-old son, Alex, as you can tell.

And I cannot resist taking pictures of Jeff with his baby girl. :) Doesn't Jeff look great? He has lost 25 lbs since January. His back is feeling great and he's doing great. I'm proud of him. :)

Today has been a busy day. I'm weaning Cayleigh (I am in desperate need of sleep and so is Jeff- I can't be a human soother any longer) and she took bottles all day long with no trouble. I am so thankful! Ans she is still her happy self- she doesn't seem to mind at all. We'll see what tomorrow brings. :)

Elmo- Always a Hit

Today I found out that Cayleigh LOVES Elmo! It was so cute watching her lay on her stomach and watch Elmo dance (and stare at her big brother). :) Caden enjoys making Cayleigh laugh, and he's so funny. I said he was cute and he said, "No, I handsome". Need I say more? :)

Sleeping Beauty

More pictures of Cayleigh sleeping. Sorry- I couldn't resist. I think a baby looks so precious when he or she is asleep. I took these pictures just now. :)

"I Bowled a 31, Mommy!"

Last night we went bowling with my friend, Kim, and her family. Caden LOVES Nick- he's 4 months younger than Caden. She also has a little boy named Nate who's 4 months older than Cayleigh. Looking at the pictures of them together shows me how tall Caden really is. ;) Nick is one of Caden's best little buddies at the moment. Both boys had a lot of fun. Caden bowled a 31 all on his own and he is very proud. He's getting better each time. If he could pick anything in the world to do, he would pick bowling for sure. It's funny- as I'm typing this he's digging his bowling pins out of the toy box. Hee hee... ;)

On the way there I tried to get a picture of Cayleigh smiling at Caden in the van. Whenever she's awake in the van she just stares at Caden and admires him. She really does love her big brother.

6 Months Yesterday :)

I can't believe Cayleigh is 6 months already! Where has the time gone?! She can almost sit up on her own now, she is eating a variety of solid foods, she is sleeping better (last night she slept through the night), and she's back to normal with her eating too. We were worried because she wasn't eating well and seemed to have an upset stomach. It turns out it was all because she was teething. On Wednesday (April 1) we discovered she had her first 2 teeth (they're just a little ways through her gums now).

Cayleigh still LOVES to play- even more than ever. We'll go in Caden's room and she'll either giggle at him or help herself to whatever books and toys she can grab. She's such a happy little girl who's growing up so fast- we wouldn't trade her for the world. :)
