Another Trip to the Calgary Zoo :)

Last Tuesday Jeff, Caden and I went to the zoo with Jeff's cousin Janice, her husband Rusty, and their 2 boys, Trey and Jackson. We always love going to the zoo. Caden really liked the turtle and even had a conversation with it. :) We saw elephants, giraffes, some hippos, zebras... and many more animals. Jeff, Caden and I couldn't stay all that long because I had a doctor's appointment that day, but we were happy with what we saw. :)

Baby Jones #2 is doing well, and we are thankful for that. We had a little scare where they thought there was a problem and that the baby wasn't getting enough nutrients (they thought her tummy was really small), but it turns out everything is just fine. They tell us they are sure it's a girl and that she's over 5 pounds already. Wonderful, eh?! ;) They say her proportions are good and aren't sure why they thought there was a problem in the previous ultrasound. So it looks like we'll be having another big baby.

The only other news I can think of is that Jeff got a promotion at work and we are very proud of him. :) He is now Assistant General Manager with the plan to be General Manager in the near future if all goes well. He's a little nervous, but I know he'll do great. He can now work Monday-Friday mostly which is better than Wednesday-Sunday, especially since he'll be starting his field education at the church. Just keep him in your prayers as he'll be quite busy, and I know the new baby and little Caden will keep us quite busy as well... ;) Caden turns 2 in a few weeks and we are busy party planning. We are going to have a party for him not this Sunday but next with his little friends from church and their parents and hopefully Holly and Nathan, and then on the Monday (his actual birthday) we'll have a party with his grandparents and the rest of the family that's in Calgary, hopefully. We hope Caden has fun. :)

Aug 16/08- Matt and Tarena's Wedding Day :)

alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5235472350523600978" />

Matt and Tarena had such a beautiful wedding, and Tarena was definitely a beautuful bride. Jeff married them and, although this was his first wedding, I think he did a great job. Little December was the flower girl and she did a great job too! She walked down the aisle perfectly. Caden was well behaved as well, and he helped me do a Scripture reading while being quiet and happy. When he saw Tarena he said "Tarena pretty" and she heard him. He is so cute. :)

Caden has taken to his Grammie Aleta and he was able to spend a lot of time with her yesterday. She took him swimming and in a hot tub and he was perfectly happy and content staying with her. And at the reception he was leading her around by the hand. It was cute to watch. Caden danced a bit, and Jeff and I got to dance some too which was nice. :) Caden watched movies with his cousin, December, and his third cousins, Trey and Jackson. They are all close in age so it is fun to see them together. He even got to sit in Bampie's truck, which is a dream come true for Caden. He is obsessed with that white truck for some reason. And I don't know whether it was just the wedding atmosphere or what, but Caden and December were definitely kissing cousins yesterday! Caden went up to December out of the blue and kissed her on the lips about 4 times! And December kissed him a few times throughout the evening as well. Caden sure is going to miss her when she leaves.

A lot of Jeff's family is here and we love spending time with them. His cousin, Janice, and her husband, Rusty, are here and so are a lot of his aunts, uncles, his Grandma, cousins... Hopefully we'll have more time to visit today. Brad, Kristin and December leave in a little over a week so that makes us sad too. :( We'll just have to try and see everyone as much as we can before they go.

Caden's 1st Haircut

On Aug 15/08 Caden had his first haircut. Jeff needed a haircut that day and once I told Caden he was determined to have his hair cut as well. He would say, "Daddy haircut? Caden haircut too." His hair looked like a bird's nest, so we thought we'd give it a try. And he did great. He sat on my lap, sucked a sucker, and after saying "ALL DONE" a few dozen times, we were finished and Caden was very proud of himself. The first 2 pictures are before shots and the last 3 are after shots. Isn't he handsome? He looks just like his Daddy. :)

More of Edmonton, Banff, and 1 From Calgary :)

I put up some pictures of Caden and Jeff in the pool at our Edmonton hotel. It was so nice. The water was so warm that I actually swam for a change. ;) Caden loved being tossed up and down by Daddy, and he would even jump in the pool on his own (into Daddy's arms of course). I have some videos that I will try to post. Caden loved the shower too, and would beg to be taken to it.

I put up 3 pictures of us in Banff. Jeff took Caden to the hotsprings and my Dad wandered around and checked things out while Mom, Greg, Meredith and I went up the gondola to see the mountains. Mom and Meredith were a little afraid, but they survived. :) It was a beautiful day, and I think everyone had a great time. We shopped for a little while which is always fun, and after a quick stop in Canmore we all came back to our house for supper. Then we went to Jeff's parents' house for some dessert before my family had to leave. Their plane leaves this morning and I am sad about that. :( It's hard because the trip to New Brunswick is so long, especially with little ones. I don't know that I'll be able to get home for Christmas this year because the new baby will be so little... But hopefully we'll get back there soon, God willing. My grandmother and aunt and uncle stayed one more night at the Banff Springs Hotel and then they're off to Ontario tomorrow.

I also put up a picture of Grampie and Grammie "Grieve" (as Caden calls them) playing with Caden in his room. He was sad when everyone left. When I put him to bed he said, "Mommy, stay here". It just about broke my heart. He was worried that I was leaving too.

Holly and Nathan's Wedding

The past few days have been quite busy. My family is here from New Brunswick and it has been great to see them. Today we are going to Banff and I am so excited to show my parents the mountains. :) I'll be sure to take a lot of pictures. It's actually only 5:00 in the morning but Baby Jones #2 has kept me up most of the night. The preparation for staying up all hours of the night has alreay begun. It's amazing how you get prepared for a newborn well before they arrive...

Holly and Nathan's wedding was beautiful. Unfortunately I don't have the greatest photos because I was busy trying to keep Caden's chatting to a minimum and Jeff was busy filming the ceremony. He did great, though. Other than one minor outburst at the rehearsal dinner Caden was a perfect little guy. He was an usher at the wedding and he loved handing out the programs. By the time we took pictures, though, he was ready for a nap and had nothing but grumpy looks for everyone. My sister, Meredith, probably has better photos so once she sends them to me I'll see if I can put them up. Holly looked beautiful. I'm sure the two of them will have a great time on their honeymoon in Hawaii... ;)

Caden loved swimming while we were in Edmonton, and he loved doing it with Daddy especially. I will put up those pictures later. I think poor Jeff needs sleep and with me tossing and turning all night the last thing he needs is for me to go in and get the camera... ;)

So in these photos you can see my Mom, my Dad, my sister Meredith, my grandmother, and my cousin Abbey who was a bridesmaid. I'm really going to miss them when they leave tomorrow. :( You can also see my big belly. ;) In the last photo you can see how exhausted Caden was. We actually left the reception early becasue Caden fell asleep. He didn't even wake up when I put him in the carseat, took him out, changed him and put his pj's on. His Grammie and Grampie Grieve as he calls them (for Fairgrieve) came over and watched him while Jeff, Meredith, Greg, Abbey and I went to see the movie Jeff and I have been trying to see, and Caden didn't even budge. For his Grammie Grieve's birthday Caden built her a bear at the Build-a-Bear workshop, and Grammie loved it. Caden even recorded her a message: "Hi, Grammie Grieve". It was cute! Caden has really taken to his Grammie and Grampie Grieve which surprised me because he can be quite shy at times. He'll be sad when they leave tomorrow.
