Caden and his Yard Work

Caden was outside today with the intention of mowing the entire condo complex. But after about 15 minutes he decided he was tired. He came in, went straight to the elevator, and once he was home he demanded a snack for all his hard work. He tugged and tugged on Mommy's pants until he got what he wanted. Peaches and puffed wheat hit the spot- for the moment atleast. :)

Formula or Cookies? Hmm...

Caden has been on homo milk for about 2 weeks now and is doing great. We had to change him over slowly incase of intolerance issues, but thankfully he is fine. He had his first chocolate chip cookie a few days ago and thought it was OK. He wasn't amazed by it, though. :) So bye to formula and hello to junk food! But only in moderation because Mommy won't allow too much. :)

The Little Turkey

Where do I begin? What a way to start a post, eh?! :) Yesterday I put Caden down for his morning nap. I was working on a Bible study for our Small Group and I heard Caden start to fuss. I didn't think anything of it because he does that sometimes. But when he started to really cry I went into his room and guess what I found. I found my 11 month old son hanging out of the side of his crib. His foot was caught and I am so thankful because otherwise he would have fallen and who knows what could have happened to him. He was crying and his poor belly was all red from the way he was lying across the bars. I was absolutely shocked that he could climb out of his crib. So now we have to go to the store and find some way to keep him in his crib. He is too little for a bed of his own. There is a crib tent that Jeff and I are thinking of getting tonight that is made for situations like this. It costs just about as much as a crib, but what can you do. Oh Caden... I'll put pictures up later of what we come up with.

Our Little Walker

We are so proud of Caden. He walks all around the condo now by himself, and he looks so cute. He has his arms out straight for balance and he looks so funny. He loves to walk. Yesterday I was cleaning his room and out of the corner of my eye I saw him walking across the living room with the remote! He was on a mission I guess! He goes from the kitchen to the living room just like a pro- sometimes he falls and sometimes he doesn't. Luckily we have had no injuries as of yet.

Tonight Jeff and I are going birthday shopping for Caden and that'll be fun. We are going to get him a "Thomas" play station with a bunch of wooden trains that he loves. It is something that he can play with when he is older too. When we take him to the store he can sit and play forever with the trains. We know he'll like it. :)

Mommy's All Mowed Out

Caden mows. And he mows and he mows and he mows. Sometimes I get tired of his push mower, but he loves it. And that is an understatement! It can get boring because some days that is all he does- mow. And he likes it when I chase him and then run and hide behind the couch, but after a dozen times that can get boring too! Oh, Caden!

So Many Changes

Caden is growing up so fast. I can't believe he'll be 1 in just a few weeks. Where has the time gone? I ask myself that every day. And every day Caden is learning new things. Just a few days ago he put the telephone to his ear and said "He-Wo", and then he would put it to my ear. It just shows that he is learning from us so Jeff and I have to be very careful from now on! :)

Caden can also hold his own bottle and drink, and that is something that he started doing really well this morning. I rolled up a blanket under his head, gave him his bottle and he just sat there with his blankie drinking.

And he is walking more and more every day, getting into more and more trouble and throwing more tantrums... I think Jeff and I are going to be very busy for a very long time! *smiles*

Good Eatin' :)

Luckily I was sleeping after a night shift so Jeff had to tackle this mess! :)

He Can Walk!

Caden all of a sudden started walking tonight! Jeff and I are so proud of our little guy. Up until now he has been able to take about 6 steps, but tonight he took about 16! And the only reason he stopped was because he was falling into either my arms or Jeff's. We were each sitting at opposite ends of the living room and Caden thought it was great fun walking toward us. He was giggling as he was walking. It was adorable! So he is 11 months, 1 week and 1 day old. What a big boy! :)

Trip to Milk River

Jeff and I love going to Milk River with Jeff's family. Last year when we went I was over 8 months pregnant and camping was hard. But nothing compared to this year! Caden wouldn't sleep the second night we were there. He doesn't like his pack 'n play and once I got him to sleep (after 10) he woke up twice in the night crying and was up for the day at 6am. There wasn't really any place Caden could crawl, so that made it hard. On the day we left he had 4 hrs worth of naps and then slept from 8pm-8am- with no trouble since he was in his own bed. I'm happy to be home so I can just let Caden loose without worrying so much. Next year hopefully it'll be a little easier. It was great to go, and Jeff and I were able to leave Caden with Grampie to go floating down the river which was great. And Caden absloutely loved mowing the campground over and over and over... :)

Too Cute

I just took this picture this morning. Caden should be on an ad for a toothpaste commercial. :)

All the Better to Bite You With...

Caden has had his 2 front teeth for a little while now. Isn't he handsome? *smiles* But does he ever bite! And does it EVER hurt! I think he bites because he is teething. So far he has bitten myself, Jeff, his Grammie Debbie, and our friends Kendis and Kate. I need to teach him to stop doing that. Actually, there are quite a few things that I need to teach him! He is getting into more and more trouble every day. He gets at the computer and when I say "No, Caden", he smiles, goes limp and drops into my arms. He thinks it is funny. When he's pulling at the TV and we say "No, Caden", he laughs! You can't help but smile. I have been trying time-outs in his crib but I don't think he has enough upstairs yet to really understand. Seriously! :) We just keep a constant eye on him...
