My Little Angels :)

I love being a Mom of 2. I forgot how special having a newborn was. Cayleigh is the sweetest little girl. And Caden just keeps getting cuter! ;) Jeff and I love our children very much- they truly are a blessing.

Trick or Treat!

Caden had a lot of fun tonight. He was able to dress up like a lion and go out and get candy. :) When I asked him if he wanted treats he said, "No! Candy." I thought that was pretty cute. We went to our old home first because we wanted to see our old neighbours. They had a special gift for Caden- lots of candy, books, and a special basket filled with coloring books, stickers, and a bunch of other goodies. And they were excited to see Cayleigh too. I visited for a while while our old neighbour, Jean, held Cayleigh, and Jeff took Caden trick-or-treating down our old neighbourhood. Then we went to see Grammie Jones. The only place we wanted to go but didn't was Mike and Kim's. We lost track of time and by the time we got back they had already left. Caden LOVES his Auntie Kim and Uncle Mike so we were sorry to have missed them, but all in all it was a fun night. :) Caden got a basket full of treats in only a few stops, and he was so tired when we got home that he went right to bed. And as you can see from the pictures, poor Cayleigh was exhausted from all the excitement too! :) Oh, and don't forget to look at the pumpkin Jeff carved with the help of his little ones (Cayleigh was sleeping of course!). It's supposed to be Elmo at the request of Caden. ;)

Haircut #2 and more pictures of course :)

Yesterday Jeff and Caden both got a haircut. They went together and dropped Cayleigh and I off at Winners. :) We're already starting mother and daughter shopping, and Cayleigh's only 3 weeks old! Caden did great at the hairdresser's. He sat in the chair all by himself and enjoyed a sucker. I guess when Jeff was getting his hair cut Caden gave a play by play as to what was going on. He kept saying, "Daddy haircut. Daddy all done haircut. Daddy not all done haircut. Caden haircut." It was probably a little annoying, but I guess the hairdresser thought Caden was adorable. He is- but sometimes he can be a tad annoying when he repeats things over and over and over... *smiles*

It's been a quiet Sunday so far. I had a nap earlier and now Jeff is sleeping and of course Cayleigh is sleeping. When Caden naps she wakes up until he does and then she goes back to sleep. Very kind of her I know! And then she sleeps until Jeff and I are ready for bed and then she wakes up for about 4 hours... So we are trying to keep her awake more in the day but it's almost impossible. I'm sure it'll be another long night, but that's OK.

Well, I have to go because Caden just told me he dirtied his diaper. Nice of him to tell me... He was just on the potty for about 20 minutes but he wouldn't use it this time. All in due time I guess. :)

"Caden did it!"

Yesterday Caden went on the potty for the first time! After he used the potty he stood up and shouted, "Caden did it!". He went again today, and we are very proud to say the least. :) I put him in his "big boy underwear" yesterday, but they were wet within minutes. And Caden doesn't understand the concept of training pants either. He just goes in them and then asks to be changed. But he has used the potty twice so we are making progress. :) I put up a few pictures of our "big boy" and our sleeping beauty that were taken either yesterday or today. I will download more pictures when I have more time and energy (maybe in a year or so *smiles*)...

Things are going well here. I am starting to feel better so that's good. And Cayleigh is an excellent baby. She pretty much just eats and sleeps. Sometimes she wants to eat every hour and that annoys Caden a bit, especially if we are outside and have to come in because his little sister thinks she is starving. But for the most part he's doing great. I've seen him give her a few kisses and last night he touched her little nose, hands and feet while we were reading bedtime stories. Caden likes to help Mommy change Cayleigh too. He's a good little helper. Jeff and I love having a boy and a girl. Little children truly are a blessing. :)

More Pictures :)

I am signed in under Jeff but it's me writing this post. :) Jeff and I have been quite busy the past few days. On Saturday night Cayleigh slept beautifully (only waking to eat) but Caden was up about 4 times. Then on Sunday Caden slept great and Cayleigh not so much. But Monday night was the worst. Caden slept fine, but Cayleigh screamed ALL night. We didn't know what was wrong. She wouldn't eat, and wouldn't even take a bottle. It was awful. But it turns out she wasn't used to me having milk and was just showing us her temper... Jeff says she gets it from me. ;) So with a little help from the Public Health Nurse all is well and last night I woke Cayleigh to feed her and she would go back to bed every time without a peep. I want to say she is an easy baby but I think I'll give it a bit more time *smiles*. All she does right now is eat and sleep. She's adorable, and Caden is warming to her. He's especially having fun with all the people coming over to help. They take him out to the park and for walks and he has a great time. And I am starting to feel better each day so I am thankful for that.

Welcome Sweet Cayleigh Alanna Jones :)

On Friday, October 3rd at 9:29pm, little Cayleigh was born. :) Isn't she adorable? I think she looks a little like her big brother, who wants nothing to do with her at this time. ;) Cayleigh wieghed 7 lbs 5 ounces and was 20 inches long. She has dark brown hair like her Daddy and so far is a very good baby. She pretty much spends all of her time eating and sleeping. The poor little one had a hard time coming into the world- her heart rate kept dropping at times, my blood pressure almost bottomed out, and then there was an unsuccessful attempt to deliver her with a vacuum and a successful attempt with forceps. It was rough, but I thank God that she is here. She is beautiful, and Jeff and I love her so so much already. :)
